Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also known as Ashanti, was born on 13 October of 1980, on the 13th of October, 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She's a performer and an actress of in the United States. Her talent was first noticed as a teen. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. In the same year, she was featured as a guest on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? the song "What's the Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time were both huge hits. In the year she debuted her debut single"What's Luv which ranked at the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at the top spot and Foolish being her first single, she was the only female to achieve this feat. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti appeared as a child actor for Spike Lee's Malcolm X in 1992 and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? Some of her appearances appeared in music video clip including K.R.S. Act One's MC's"Like They Don't Know" and 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Ashanti was wooed and signed by various record labels, including Bad Boy. She also featured in several cameos on music videos. However, she kept playing with her band in New York. Then, she was at Murder Inc. Studios hoping to make it big. Ashanti was originally featured on the track of Big Pun's We Roll as a backing vocalist. Ashanti also sang on the track of Fat Joe,"What's Luv?" She also appeared on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ashanti's debut single Foolish includes a snippet of DeBarge's 1983 song Stay with Me. Ashanti has released her debut self-titled album in 2002, through Irv Goti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration was her fourth studio album, was released in June of 2008. On October 16 Hey Baby (After the Club) was released on radio and digital outlets. The actress also appeared in films Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. Aitch was a sampler of Rock wit U in his Baby on March 10, 2022 song.
